Classes

Enso Class Descriptions and Schedule

Enso's classes are taught in the Hatha yoga tradition with a strong emphasis on proper alignment. Hatha yoga refers tophysical practice of yoga, meaning the practice of poses and observance of breath as a means to healthy balance, contentment and well-being.

Each of our teachers bring their own unique blend of training, style, experience, focus, and personality to class. Hatha Yoga involves the flow of synchronized breath to match the flowing movement between poses (vinyasa) as well as the longer holding of poses in conjunction with breath to build stamina, strength and balance. Our Ashtanga Yoga is deeply seated in the Iyengar tradition of form, alignment and balance.

What to expect During Enso's Studio Classes
Movement and contemplation united for a dancing meditation of spirit. Drink plenty of water before and after class as it is advised not to drink during practice... it dowses the energy you worked hard to create. Do not eat 2 hours prior to practice or enjoy something light like a piece of fruit. Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely, yet not too baggy that it falls over your head in a standing forward bend. Also, be advised that zippers and buttons may get in the way.

ENSO Special Classes

Prenatal Yoga (Winter/Spring 2011 Prenatal Classes starting in January)
Yoga is an excellent way to prepare your body and mind for labor and delivery. Practicing yoga during pregnancy helps to strengthen the body while keeping it flexible. Yoga eases the mind, releases tension and helps maintain good posture, while giving you tools on how to keep an upbeat attitude especially when dealing with stresses associated with pregnancy and motherhood. The class will focus on yoga postures that help prepare you for labor, delivery and motherhood as well as breathing techniques you can use during labor. At the end of each class, restorative yoga poses will be integrated to support you and baby allowing you to deepen your connection to baby, breath and self.

Previous yoga experience is not necessary to fully benefit from the classes, and women who have practiced yoga before will find these classes are a great way to transition back to their pre-pregnancy practice.

Enso YOGA Fundamentals
This class is for beginning students who have never taken yoga, those whose yoga has been limited to DVDs, or those who would like a deeper understanding of the poses. You will learn basic alignment, foundation poses of yoga, and breathing with the poses. This is a fun and relaxed class.

Integral Restore Yoga
Relax and unwind in this gently-paced class. Deep, conscious breathing and attention to the present moment are encouraged as students move gently while breathing and holding asanas (poses)  as well as restorative postures. Poses are held longer to allow the body to relax into them. Soothing music, aromatherapy, gentle massage, and use of props encourage total relaxation. A guided meditation period of 10-15 minutes ends the class. Suitable for all levels.

Hatha ALIVE Yoga
Classes are gentle and therapeutic, and unite body, mind and spirit. Breath and movement are brought together to achieve this goal, while increasing strength, flexibility and balance, joint mobility and range of movement, reducing pain, blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, and much, much more that will be addressed in classes. Anyone can do yoga, no matter the age or physical shape. Take a break from your busy life and find time for tranquility and well-being.

This class is designed to help reduce stress, increase focus, and support complete relaxation of both body and mind. Various yoga props, including blankets, blocks, bolsters and straps, will help the body unwind and let go. This is a restorative yoga class specifically designed to improve back and hip pain and function, and prevent future back injuries. Ideal for silver sages and people with movement or balance limitations. Appropriate for those recovering from chronic illness and healing from injuries. Beginners, all levels.

Hatha Progressive Yoga
Hatha Progressive is a Slower yet progressive class that focuses on practicing yoga at a methodical pace. We will be holding postures, focusing on our breath, and at the same time creating a supple and toned body. This class is designed to revitalize your body, relax your mind, increase energy, and reduce stress. For beginners, all levels, people with back, joint, or heart problems, or experienced students who want a slower paced, yet progressive class. All levels.

Core Flow Yoga
Tone your abdomen, strengthen your back, and create a strong center. Transform the body through breath, go deep into internal organs to release toxins, and bring freedom and fluidity into your body. This class targets often neglected muscle groups. A strong core will help you avoid injuries. A great compliment to your regular yoga and pilates practice. For those who have been in a regular yoga and fitness routine for at least two months.

Pure Fluid Yoga
This class will take you through a series of progressive building block postures to promote a comfortable sweat, reshape muscles, and increase strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Modifications of postures are made to accommodate everyone, offering both beginning and advanced students a refreshingly accessible experience.

Natya YogaDance
Natya (dance) Yoga is a series of slow, continuous and graceful movements inspired by the Five Great Elements (earth, water, wood, metal, air)  as manifested through the movement and energy(charkas) centers of the body. This class will evoke balance and spirit in relation to the universal law of nature by transcending our limitations as perceived in our conscious minds. It is a moving meditation through which students learn to become better rooted to the earth. The class begins with a 30 minute session of Fluid Hatha FlowYoga, starting with breathing revitalizing the body, steadying the emotions and creating clarity of the mind, followed by various asanas (postures) toning muscles and maintaining elasticity of the spine - improving posture and increasing vitality.The second 30-minutes is devoted to gently and gracefully adding expression to the body.

Sunrise Yoga
Set the pace for your day with this early morning vinyasa flow class. This moderately paced class is suitable for all levels and will allow you to wake up your body and your mind. Move into your day in a grounded and spacious frame of mind, and a strong,  balanced body.

Candlelight Yoga

Indulge in the ultimate yoga experience. Begin your yoga practice breathing into your body and observing the changing ambiance of daylight to moonlight.  Soft music & candlelight soothe and relax your mind, body and the soul as you flow through various yoga moves. Enso's serene setting allows you to slip into a deep state of peace and relaxation. You will slowly flow through poses, allowing your body to relax, yet leave you feeling spacious inside and exhilarated.

Yoga For Life Yoga
Take time out of your busy life to relax and rejuvenate with this gentler, flowing and restorative class that includes energy balancing. All levels. Class 90 minutes.

Therapeutic Yoga (Will be offered this fall and winter in 8 week series. Dates to be announced.)
Therapeutic Yoga is designed to address your physical issues and challenges using healing movement. Drawing upon the techniques of deep and gentle Viniyoga, you will work within your body’s range of motion and access the healing power of sustained, nurturing breath. Ease pain and foster healing, while learning to accept your body as it is. This class is appropriate for both beginners and more experienced students who want a softer, breath centered practice. Therapeutic Yoga will aid in healing injury or illness, accommodate physical limitations, and address anxiety and depression. 

Silver Sage Yoga
Enso can bring Silver Sage yoga directly to the student or group at retirement communities, assisted living facilities, senior centers, and individuals homes.Classes are held at these facilities. The instructor provides mats and other props. Classes are approximately 1 hour in length. They are appropriate for all levels and body types. Please email Nina for more information and to discuss how we might bring yoga to your living community.

Yoga Unplugged Workshop Classes
Yoga Unplugged will be a dynamic and intense physical class with a different vibe! You may hear a little less music, experience long and lasting sequences, all integratec with a strong Vedanta theme. Study Group (requires sign up and registration at Enso: email Nina for more information and to register) Need 6 interested students to provide a Sunday, 8-Class Series.

 

New to Yoga?

Intro Yoga for New Yogis
Class instruction and demonstration, incorporating pranayama (breathing) asana (poses) and meditation. This class is suitable for students who have taken some yoga classes, absolute beginners, athletes or those who’d like to revisit the basic fundamentals of yoga. Great segue/continuation class after the Beginner’s Yoga Workshop.

Enso Private and Semi-Private Yoga Instruction / Restorative & Therapeutic Personal Training Private Lessons:

Private lessons: Private lessons allow you the time and individual attention to learn the art and practice of yoga, and to ask questions about a particular pose, work through challenges, and find modifications that are right for you as an individual. With the teacher's close attention on you in every pose, together you may discover something new that will help to refocus and refresh your practice. Two people may also book a semi-private lesson together at a reduced rate.

Semi-Private Group Parties and Instruction: Discover yoga, breath and somatic body movement with a group of friends, a bookclub, team, or family. We can create any experience for your group around any theme, book or topic of your choosing. Your semi-private group instructor and teacher is also a long-term certified personal life coach, and can empower your group in whatever manner you wish!

 

ENSO Fusion Fitness Unplugged

At Enso, we believe the only way to have a body you love is to treat it with love, gratitude and respect and to train it with integrity and enthusiasm. Our body is what allows us to experience life fully and we believe a strong, healthy and flexible body is essential to living a life we love. Over time we will develop lots of ways to help you develop cardio vascular endurance, strength, flexibility, balance and mindfulness. All of Enso's Body-Mind Fitness classes are developed to train your heart, body and mind all at once and to help you feel great and look your best.

Enso offers high-energy cardio and strength-gain body-mind workouts created by Enso Founder Nina Roberts Salveson. Enso's approach to physical fitness wellness and fitness based on the teachings of mindfulness, body-mind personal training, positive psychology and the law of attraction. She has radically combined "new school" aerobic and anaerobic movement, martial arts and endurance principles with positive affirmations and a gentle relaxation/stretching session at the end of class. The result is an unprecedented practice which is empowering physically and mentally while you develop the best body of your life.

All classes below offer full body conditioning and fitness.

NIA is a multi-dimensional movement practice of The Body’s Way/Your Body’s Way to health, fitness and well-being. This group movement class conditions the physical, mental, emotional and spirit realms. Nia movement is medicine for self-healing. Participants are encouraged to explore individual and community expressivity through body awareness. Katas (movement sequences of stances, steps and kicks) and FreeDance are blended in each Nia Class fusing movement from the martial arts, dance arts and healing arts. Each class moves through 7 Cycles: Focus and Intention, Stepping-In (letting go of distractions), Warm-Up preparing the body for full-body movement), Get Moving (continuous movement increasing breath and heart beat), Cool-Down (slowing down), FloorPlay (to integrate the body’s nervous system through the 5 Sensations of Nia – Flexibility, Agility, Mobility, Stability and Strength), Stepping-Out (completing the class Focus and Intention to return to the remainder of the day). Nia delivers the promise of integrating mind/body/spirit through sensation. No previous movement/dance experience necessary; all levels are welcome. This is a fun, lively and expressive class AND a great "sweatful" workout!

YogaBody METHODS Fusion
Enso's "bootcamp" of yoga. This all levels , total body workout class is known to tighten, sculpt & lift in all the right areas. In one hour the class fuses the disciplines of body conditioning, yoga and core enhancing, using the body's own weight to isolate, strengthen and reshape. The class utilizes dynamic ease, as well techniques to fire muscles through a technique known as strain-counter strain. The result, firm, lean muscles, a flexible youthful body and a fill of calm & relaxation.The class includes body shaping using your own body weigh, light weights and balls. YogaBody fusion one of your answer for fast results! Reduce body fat & tone, tighten & lift! See your body transform with habitual practice!Body fusion is suitable for all fitness levels.

Enso METHODS Fusion EXHALE 
This is a mat fusion conditioning class and total body workout. We add props such as the Medicine & Pilates Ball, Kettlebells, free weights, bands, pilates bar and more. Strengthen, tighten and lengthen your entire body! This unique body-mind conditioning class focuses on integrating the entire body (as opposed to working separate body parts) while being aware of the breath and how the spine is aligned. You will benefit from better posture, flexibility and stronger core muscles---the epi-center of all of your body’s strength. The workout is motivating, energizing, invigorating and revitalizing and works for everyone regardless of age or condition. This fitness class is a fusion of rhythm, grace, flexibility, strength, and coordination with an underlying base of group fitness and personal training. This is the perfect addition to rounding out your yoga practice and fitness routine. The last 15 minutes of the class includes restorative stretching and shavasana relaxtation. All fitness levels are welcome and no prior experience is needed!

Dress Code: Yoga or Pilates clothes are perfect for this class, You will be bare foot for this class but clean athletic shoes are also fine to wear as long as they do not have chunky running treads on the soles.

 

ENSO Pilates

Enso METHODS Pilates Fusion

You won't find a class like this anywhere else! This high energy class takes the best of Pilates and turns up the volume to get the heart pumping, the blood moving and the calories burning. This class combines traditional floor exercises with strength/resistance training utilizing various props including hoops, balls, light weights, body bars and/or resistance bands. The class focuses on establishing muscular balance, building core strength and increasing flexibility and range of motion in the joints. Each student receives plenty of individual attention.

Mat Pilates
A Pilates Mat class involves performing each exercise on a mat with or without props using one’s own body weight for resistance and strength.

Private Pilates Instruction
Enso offers Private and small Group instruction at a variety of times and levels. During a private session with a Pilates Trainer, your needs are thoroughly assessed and met. Each workout will be specific to your goals and ability in order to obtain the best results possible.

1 STAR- An introduction for begining yoga students to the basics of yoga, including breathing techniques, stretching, yoga postures, meditation and relaxation.  Offered in a supportive manner designed to leave the student feeling the joy of yoga.

2 STAR- Designed for students with prior knowledge of the basics of yoga, who wish to continue their ongoing process of self awareness through added breathing techniques and poses, deeping meditation and relaxation techniques.

3 STAR- Classes designed for the advancing student (intermediate) with at least one year prior experience, offering more challenging posture flows, delving into deeper practices with breath work and meditation.

4 STAR- For intermediate to advanced practitioners wanting to explore their "edge" through more advanced postures, yoga flows (transitions), breathing techniques and meditation.  Most 4 STAR classes at ENSO will be offered as "Master Yoga Series Classes" and will require pre-registration.

5 STAR- Open/All Levels- Designed for level 1, 2 and 3.  Offering modifications where needed, helping students find a level of comfort within your personal practice.  ENSO Prenatal classes offer a 5 STAR class for all level students.  All Enso Methods, NIA and Fusion classes include a 5 STAR rating for all students.

Karma Yoga Program

Our 21 & Under Karma Yoga Program is comprised of motivated, friendly, and dedicated young people under the age of 21 who help keep Enso vibrant for our teachers and fellow practitioners.

We offer one free yoga class in exchange for 60 minutes of work, as well as a 10% discount on retail. The Karma program is available to three young persons per quarter and requires a brief and friendly interview and application.

Duties may include:

  • Supporting the manager and/or teacher on duty
  • Keeping the lobby, studio, changing areas, and bathrooms tidy
  • Distributing flyers in the neighborhood

This is a great opportunity for those wanting to earn some credit towards classes and some good karma merit. Please contact Nina or Lani if you are interested in becoming a Karma Yogi.

Private and Semi-Private Sessions

Private Sessions can be arranged to:

  • Develop your home practice.
  • Focus on your special needs such as back pains or injuries.
  • Develop a personal program for sports conditioning or to manage a specific health issue.

Credo

Class registration and prepayment is required to attend classes. Registration can occur on-line or at Enso.
Please come at least 20 minutes early if you need to register before attending class.

Your advance registration secures your spot in class; space is limited and we offer this as a courtesy to you, our client. Advance registration may be done online through our scheduling system where you can also plan and print out your visits to Enso.

Yoga Etiquette and Standards of Presence for an Honoring and Harmonious Practice at Enso

PLEASE:

  • Please remove and leave your shoes inside the front door before entering the studio.
  • Sound carries in our building so please turn cell phones off and keep voices low in the hallways and
    adjoining rooms if another class or private is in session.
  • You may place your purse, wallet or other personal belongings on the counter in the back prop room.
  • Arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class to prepare. Late arrivals are admitted at the teacher’s discretion. Later arrivals more than five minutes after the class has started is not permitted as the warm up and centering process is well underway.
  • Observe silence once class begins. Our lounge area is available for you to enjoy tea and social time.
  • Do not attend class right after eating a large meal.
  • Bring water.
  • Wear non-restrictive clothing.
  • Plan on being barefoot.
  • Plan on staying the entire class. If you must leave early, please inform the teacher and end with Shavasana!

Enso provides mats, blocks, straps, balls, blankets, weights and all other props. You can purchase a beautiful mat in our boutique.

For your health and safety, we highly encourage you to purchase your own mat. These mats are high quality, long lasting and affordable. We have high quality extra thick mats available for sale also.

Class Cancellation & Missed Class Policy

Missed “no show” classes for which you are registered will be charged against your credit or debit card. To avoid charges for missed classes, kindly call Enso at (952)361-9355 twenty (20) hours in advance to let us know of your cancellation. No shows and cancellations occurring with less than 20 hours notice will be billed to your credit card.

  • Class cards may not be frozen, nor are they transferable.
  • No refunds will be given for unused classes.
  • Unattended workshops are non-refundable.

Gift Certificates are available. We accept cash, check, credit cards.

Payment methods

We accept checks, cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover for payment.

Confidentiality

Patient confidentiality as required by state law is absolutely honored and maintained at all times.

Cancellation Policy for Appointments or Services

Cancellations for appointments and services must be made no later than 24 hours before treatment or the full fee will be charged. In the case of an emergency, please inform the front desk or your practitioner and this policy may be amended.

Treatment Suggestions and Policies

To get the most of your treatments, please turn off all pagers and cell phones during your visit. If you are coming for acupuncture please refrain from wearing makeup or scented lotions or perfumes for the first few treatments. It is also advisable to avoid caffeinated or alcoholic beverages the day of your appointment and for at least 24 hours afterwards. Please be sure your body is well-hydrated with pure water before you arrive for your session.

Insurance

A growing number of insurance companies will reimburse for acupuncture or massage treatments. Consult your insurer for the terms of coverage on your policy. However, full payment is due at the time of each treatment. A receipt will be given after each treatment for patients to submit for insurance reimbursement.

Celebrate with friends and family by hosting a yoga party at Enso! Many people are looking for alternative ways to celebrate, to do something special, life affirming and uniting for a special occasion. Why not have a party that is unique and actually good for you? A yoga party is designed to relax and rejuvenate mind, body and spirit.

Your yoga party in our studio consists of a one-hour long private yoga session and 1⁄2 hour after class for time to serve your refreshments that you provide and open gifts. Longer sessions are available, and we customize the program to fit your needs. Off-site yoga party is a one-hour private yoga session at your location. Please make sure you have ample room for the group and a safe environment.

We would love to help you design a memorable experience for you and your guests! Here are some examples of events we have held:

  • Eat, Pray, Love Book Club Event – after reading the famous best seller, a book club group held a special session at Enso. Nina Salveson led the group through some gentle yoga and then guided them through a wonderful meditation session.

  • Mother/Daughter Yoga – Imagine spending an afternoon with your Mother (or daughter) in a yoga class designed especially for you. This group of women experienced a wonderful session that included Hatha yoga, partner yoga and guided relaxation.
  • Enso Happy Hour – get together with your friends after work to “get happy.” Past sessions have included Restorative Yoga, Dance, and Zumba.

Private Yoga Instruction

One on One Yoga Sessions with Nina
Great for beginners! Work one-on-one to learn specific poses and proper alignment. Useful for individuals who want to develop a home practice or those who have special health concerns or injuries.

Private classes are tailored to fit the needs of each student:

  • Weight Loss
  • Rejuvenation/Stress Reduction
  • Tone Muscles and Improve Flexibility
  • Power/Strength
  • Increase Vitality

Private Instruction Fees:
$55 per one hour session
$70 per hour and a half session

Package Prices:
$250 for 5 one hour sessions
$480 for 10 one hour sessions
$325 for 5 hour and a half sessions
$630 for 10 hour and a half sessions

For workshops or yoga classes, please check our current schedule.

All hours for acupuncture, massage, and herbal therapies and nutritional consultations are by appointment. Appointments are available Monday-Friday 10am-7:00pm, Saturdays 8am-2pm, and closed on Sundays unless by special appointment.

There is a 24-hour cancellation policy and the full fee will be charged for failure to cancel an appointment within that timeframe, except for emergencies.
